2013 HOT WHEELS - SUPER SECRET/HIDDEN TREASURE HUNT$ #242 '72 FORD GRAN TORINO SPORT, #202 '09 CORVETTE ZR1 & #198 '73 FORD FALCON XB - REVIEW: 21.NOVEMBER.2012

Ever since the 1st 2013 SUPER SECRET/HIDDEN TREASURE HUNT$ came out, which is the #242 '72 Ford Gran Torino Sport, the U.S. card edition has the hidden symbol & wording on center, bottom of the card:

"This symbol lets you know that this vehicle is hard to find and highly collectable."
And once the International card edition was spotted, there's no sign for this hidden symbol & wording. Check this out..
At first, everyone thought that ONLY the U.S. card edition has this hidden symbol & wordings until the 2nd SUPER SECRET/HIDDEN TREASURE HUNT$ #202 '09 CORVETTE ZR1 (U.S. card edition) was spotted. And guess what, it doesn't have the hidden symbol TH logo & wordings on the card.
And so does the INTERNATIONAL CARD EDITION.
Ok. While i was looking for any differences between the U.S. & INTERNATIONAL card, i wanna stretch out about the card at the back cover. Check out the photos below for the differences..
U.S. CARD EDTION

INTERNATIONAL CARD EDITION
For those who didn't know, if the 2013 card with old model car (previously came out in NEW MODELS/HW PREMIERE category), the back cover will not have the description for the car. But if the 2013 card with new casting/model, the back cover will have the full description of the origin of the car. For example, the 2013 #194 Chevy Camaro Special Edition.
 This is ONLY for U.S. card edition which has 2 privileges;
1. Yellow circle with red wording 'NEW FOR 2013' & 4 HW Team members printed on the front card cover.
2. Full descriptions of the origin of the car model.
and INTERNATIONAL CARD will NOT have these privileges even though the car is a new casting/model.

Now, this is new & i try to find out whether this has been news to any blog or forum, but i found non.
Here is the new variants that i found during the comparison. This variant is for 2013 #202 '09 CORVETTE ZR1 between U.S. & INTERNATIONAL CARD edition. Check this out...
I try to capture as close as possible to compare these both car on the windows.
So, hopefully you can spot the differences here..
If you look close enough.. the windows on both cars have a huge differences. The left side of the car is U.S. card edition & right side is INTERNATIONAL card. The International card has the dark tinted windows whereas for U.S. card has the lite smoke tinted windows. I don't know if anyone out there have these variant or not, but i'm sure you can find out real soon in any way you can, alright. I haven't really compare the U.S. card with the U.S. card yet, same car, same super thunt. But i will surely update you here once i am done with it.

Let's get to the next super treasure hunt, shall we? :)
The 4th SUPER SECRET/HIDDEN TREASURE HUNT will be the #198 '73 FORD FALCON XB SPECTRAFLAME DARK BROWN.
U.S. CARD EDITION WITH HOT WHEELS FACTORY SEAL STICKER ON CARD
U.S. CARD EDITION
U.S. CARD WITH NO HIDDEN 'TH' SYMBOL & WORDING.

INTERNATIONAL CARD WITH NO HIDDEN SYMBOL & WORDING.

So, i guess that's it .. for now.. One thing for sure is that there's only one U.S. card edition with secret hidden treasure hunt symbol with wording on card and that's '72 Ford Gran Torino Sport! How to explain here eh.. Is it that Hot Wheels think it is ridiculous to put those symbol there or it just cost more just to print those symbol there eh..? No official word on this matter yet though. If you look carefully, the symbol on card was actually seen in the regular treasure hunt in the series as well. So, what i guess is that the new treasure hunt symbol
is for regular treasure hunt and the SUPER SECRET/HIDDEN TREASURE HUNT$ should still be using the ones used since 2009 til 2012 mainline series. And the first 2013 Super Secret/Hidden Treasure Hunt$ has no 'TH' logo on the car's body. I have try to search for one but found non. Weird, right? Try see if you have this 'TH' logo on SUPER TH$ '72 Ford Gran Torino Sport.

The 2nd SUPER TH$ '09 CORVETTE ZR1 has the 'TH' logo at the other side of the car near rear tires.

The 3rd SUPER TH$ '73 FORD FALCON XB also has the 'TH' logo on BOTH SIDE at REAR!!

Alright then.. i guess that's all for the time being..
I hope you enjoy the pics and the info, ok.
I will continue more on these updates tomorrow.
Thank you for visiting my blog & your time. See you then.. :D

  1. ALL SEEMS A BIT CONFUSING, HOWEVER, ONE REALLY NEEDS TO BE ASTOOTE WHEN SERIOUSLY SEARCHING FOR THESE COOL S-T-H/ REG.T-H'S. I THINK I MAY HAVE COME ACROSS A SECRET INTERNATIONAL T-H. DEFINETLY WEIRD, BUT NONTHELESS, A'10 CAMARO SS HW RESCUE/HW CITY-2013 ON BACK OF CARD, WITH NO PIC. ALSO, HAS THE RED 'X1673. & 3/4 DIFERENT LANGUAGES. NOW, THE FRONT OF CARD IS EXACTLY THE SAME AS A NORMAL SECRET T-H. IT HAS THE SYMBOL FLAME ON THE CAR NEAR THE R.SIDE FRONT FENDER. AND ALSO HAS THE SYMBOL FLAME ON THE CARD PICTURE ITSELF IN THE SAME SPOT. HOWEVER, IT DOES NOT SAY OR SPECIFY TH & DOES NOT SAY OR SHOW SYMBOL BEHIND THE CAR. USUALLY IT STATES, 'HTF & highly collectible. i believe i could use some advice. IF ANYONE OUT THERE KNOW'S ABOUT THIS, I'D SURE APPRECIATE SOME UPDATED INFORMATION. THANKYOU, CHRIS.

    1. You just have to look at the lettering 'TH' logo on the body. Its either at the side door or at the end of the rear trunk. Hope that will help. :)
      Thanks for the comment.
